Is Anyone Paying Attention?

Psalms 9:17 plainly states, “The wicked shall be turned into hell. and all nations that forget God.” 230 years ago a new nation was founded in America with acknowledgements of divine providence and guidance. A person needs only read some of the speeches and writings of early Presidents, Senators, Legislators and Governors to realize that they were not hesitant to speak of the importance of God and the Holy Scriptures in regard to the decisions they made in the administration of their duties. Politicians, authors and lecturers encouraged citizens to read the Bible. It is said that schools were started on the pioneer fronts with the Bible as their only textbook. Other early school books contained Bible stories and other stories which taught morals.

Today there is a highly organized movement to turn our nation away from God. There are even those who object to government officials making mention of God in their public addresses.

Our Constitution was written to insure freedom of religion, but modern day liberal judges have ruled against the display of the Ten Commandments in government buildings, ruled against prayer at school functions, ruled against teachers reading the Bible to students, but ruled in favor of the murder of unborn babies, in favor of gambling and in favor of homosexuality. There are efforts to take the name of God out of the Pledge of Allegiance and off our currency.

Is anyone awake? Is anyone paying attention to what is going on?

According to reports during the recent Islamic month of Ramadan some of our American children in schools on both our coasts have been studying the Koran, memorizing passages, chanting Islamic chants praising Allah, dressing like Moslems and even taking Islamic names for the month and learning Moslem practices, all in the name of a “culture study.” This was challenged in court by concerned parents but was permitted by a liberal judge because it was a “culture study.” What if a school wanted to have a “culture study” of Christianity, and have children study the Bible, and memorize Scriptures and praise God?

There has been a tremendous increase in the Moslem population in the United States in recent years and great efforts are made to win the minds of our young people to the Islamic doctrine. Efforts are made to completely wipe Judaism and Christianity from the face of the earth. It has been reported that the Islamic goal is to dominate the world by 2020. Many of us will not be living 14 years from now, but the church will still be standing. We may not understand all that is ahead. We would like to think that those who have been deceived by the false Islamic doctrine can be reached with the gospel and be saved, but It may be that the time is upon us that Satan is free to deceive nations again and will “surround the camp of the saints” (Revelation 20:9). Whatever comes, I beg brethren to stand fast in the faith. If it costs your life, so be it.

Heaven will be worth it all.
