A while back on NBC TV it was reported a man claims to be the 2nd coming of Jesus Christ. He has a huge following of supporters throughout the world (20 countries). Described as a man who wears diamonds, Rolex watches, drives a BMW car, he recently sold a home for one million dollars. All his wealth and gifts comes from his supporters who give 20-80% of their income to him.

He teaches there is no such thing as sin, prayer is a waste of time, and the devil is a Hollywood character. When hearing this report I immediately thought about Scriptures in the Bible that warn us about people like this.

Matthew 24:4,5: “Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Christ, and will deceive many.”

Matthew 24:23-27: “At that time if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or, ‘There he is!’ do not believe it. For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect—if that were possible. See, I have told you ahead of time. “So if anyone tells you, ‘There he is, out in the desert,’ do not go out; or, ‘Here he is, in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it. For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.”

Galatians 1:8: “But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned!”

II Peter 3:10: “But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare.” This chapter in Peter is an excellent reading on the subject of Christ’s 2nd coming and the Judgment which will come upon all mankind.

Our only source to tell us the way to heaven is through our study of the Holy Scriptures.

II Timothy 3:16: “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.” Praise the Lord for warning us about false teachers and imposters of Christ. When Christ comes again it will be an unmistakable event!
