“Look To God For Strength” ~ September 21, 2001
Stephanie L. Moody
Where were you? Where was I?
On that terror-filled day
When one nation cried.
Forever will live on in my mind’s memory
The grief and pain
Everyone will see.
Planes crash, and the buildings fall.
Thousands die
With no chance at all.
Touching many hearts, uniting us as one.
What lies ahead
We have only just begun.
Everything is changed. We can only move on.
Take it one step at a time,
You will see a new dawn.
Look to God for strength. He will see you through
He’ll hold your hand if you let him
Don’t sit back and be blue.
Lift your hearts in prayer, sing a song of praise.
Only God can give true inner peace
Your spirits he can raise.
Everyone in this world has been given free will to choose.
What to do with their life,
Whether to win or lose.
You can’t make someone do something.
Only they can choose their way.
Only you can decide for yourself,
That’s what happened that day.
It’s hard to understand why things happen,
Many will search for years to come.
Look to God, He’ll help you see
Whatever may be the sum.
Who knows what will happen,
What storms we still have to weather.
We need to be united as one,
A nation sticking together.
So please don’t be discouraged, Let God fill your heart,
And together we will always be,
Never divided apart.
