Love

I Corinthians. 13:2 “…but have not love, I am nothing.”
I Corinthians. 13:3 “…but have not love, it profits me nothing.”

Love is the most basic element of living life as a Chris- tian, it permeates everything we do and everything we think. Look at 1 Corinthians 13. Think about your life. Is your attitude derived from love? Love of God? Love of the brethren? Love of your enemies?

If you were to teach class every Sunday and Wednesday and do it for any reason besides love it PROFITS YOU NOTHING. If you were to baptize 100 people and do it for any reason besides love it PROFITS YOU NOTHING. It would benefit those taught, but not you. See the point Paul is making here? Love is so important to us as God's children that it has to be our motivating factor in our journey as a Christian.

1 Corinthians. 13:13 says that love is greater than faith (that can move mountains) and hope (which is in Christ Jesus).

“By this all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” ~ John 13:35
