C. R. Turner was at Wood River, Illinois from October 22 to November 3rd. He spoke November l2th at Gallatin, Mo. and La Junta, Colo. November 19th . . .. He conducted a very successful study in Church Government in October at Compton, Calif. ~ Roy Loney spoke at Brookport from October 15th over the 18th with excellent interest and good attendance . . .. From there he went to Charleston, Illinois speaking twice the 22nd of October; then conducted a weeks meeting at Waynesville, Ill. And spoke once at Pana, then to Wood River over November 5th.... H was with the Estancia Dr. church in Albuquerque, N. M. from Nov. 18th
over the 26th, and plans to begin two weeks work in Nashville, Tenn. December 3rd. ~ Wm. Hensley reports two baptized at Gardner, Kas. during October, and one immersed at Martinstown, Mo. ~ We regret to report the sudden death of Bro. Charles Maynard, of the Hartford, III. congregation, who died peacefully in his sleep November lath. We extend our sincere sympathies to his loved one ~ Winford Lee conducted a two weeks effort with the church at 25th and Oakley, Kansas City, Mo. in Late October. ~ Richard is spending two weeks each month this winter with the Indiana Ave. congregation in Topeka, Kansas. ~ Wilford Landes was with the 59th and University congregation in Des Moines, Ia. ~ Thomas Dennis and Will Rogers are currently laboring with the Section congregation in S. E. Kansas. An all day meeting was held November 6th. One was baptized at Ottawa, Kas. November 29th. ~ Lawrence Swearingin will spend a couple of days, each week in Home Bible Studies at Lawrence, Kas. this winter. ~ This issue completes the first year of The Gospel Message. Our subscription list has grown steadily, and the future looks fairly encouraging; but we are wondering as to the immediate future. We will appreciate it if you will renew at once. Quite a few churches are taking them in bundles to mail to a selected list. This will advertise the local church . . . . Much good can be accomplished by placing people on a regular mailing list .... One Sister recently renewed with a $20.00 check: "Go thou and do likewise." For the March issue there will be several excellent articles on The Cross of Christ. Have we forgotten that story? ~ L. C. Roberts, has been spending a week each month at Charleston, IL?. He is presently laboring with the Bethlehem congregation near Corridon, Iowa . . .. He has some open time for 1962. Write him at 1104 E. 29th St., Anderson, Ind. ~ The church at Bethany, Mo. have traded their church property for the vacated Baptist house, and Jerry Reese will labor with them from January to June 1st. A little more support is needed to finance this work. Who will help?
