Sister Lena Roller, a long time member of the Stull, Kansas, congregation passed away June 4th and laid to rest June 6th. Tom Dennis conducting the services. We extend our most sincere sympathies to all her loved ones. Her righteous influence was very wide and an immense crowd gathered to pay their last respects to this aged and much admired woman. ~ Tom Dennis has been laboring with the Indiana Ave. congregation in Topeka. ~ Clifford Deister will be with them the remainder of the summer. ~ Wilford Landes conducted a vacation study with the Ottawa, Kansas congregation from June 5th to the 16th. ~ Roy Loney spoke at Tribune, Kansas May 28th and at Las Animas, Colorado June 4th. ~ Linda Rake and Dwain Paugh were married at Lawrence, Kansas June 17th, Winford Lee performing the ceremony. This young couple will make their home at Emporia, Kansas where both are students in the Kansas State Teachers College. ~ Don't forget the great study to be conducted at Independence, Missouri from July 30th 'till August 11th. C. R. Turner, Kenneth Van Deusen, Richard Riggins, Winford Lee, and Wilford Landes will be the teachers, bringing a great variety of scriptural lessons to those who can attend. ~ C. R. Turner labored at Dean Ave, Des Moines, Iowa, two weeks in June, and from there went to Bethany, Missouri. ~ Bro. Ralph Carlock, an elder from La Junta, Colorado recently underwent surgery at the Santa Fe hospital in Topeka, Kansas. ~ One was added by baptism at Lawrence, Kansas June 4th. ~ A. C. Warren recently spent some time in Des Moines, Iowa and spoke a number of times for the congregations in that area. Eugene Suddeth reports the cause in the Des Moines area as making some encouraging progress. ~ Wilford Landes held a vacation study at Mt. Ayr, Iowa last two weeks in June. ~ Tom Dennis is to labor with the churches at Summersville and Hartsthorn, Mo. in early July and then will conduct a vacation study at Farmington, N.M. ~ Roy Loney spoke twice at Beloit, Kas. June 25th and reports the work in good shape there. He will be at Lewis, Kas. July 9th. ~ Wm. Hensley labored with the LaVerne, Calif. in June. He is spending the entire summer on the west coast. ~ Winford Lee was at Clarinda, Iowa June 18th. He is scheduled for some labor with the Speedway (Indiana) congregation and then to Bloomfield. ~ Roy Loney and Kenneth Long conducted a vacation study at Lawrence, Kas. from June 12th to the 23rd. ~ We can obtain for you a copy of the New English Bible (just the New Testament) for $3.20.
