Words may express our belief in Christ. They may also express our love for Him. Obedience to His Will always makes known our faith and our love for Him.
I think this to be the acid test. Not everyone who says Lord shall enter the Kingdom. But those who do His Will have put their words to the acid test.
Abraham came through the test of his faith with, so called, flying colors. Yet we know, the story would have been entirely different if Abraham had failed to obey.
Those seeking Christ, will never find him in word alone. He is to be found when we obey His commandments. Jesus went back to His Father, after His earth life, with praise and glory, because He had done the entire Will of God on earth. (Philippians 2: 9-11). Mortal man can never become a spiritual part of Christ with anything short of obedience. (Romans 6:17- 18; Galatians 3:27).
The acid test comes when we are asked to accept Jesus according to His Will. It comes again and again when, we later as Christians, are called upon to do His Will.
There is no doubt but what man can make Heaven by doing God's Will. No Bible passage sustains a hope that we can make Heaven, with anything—short of complete obedience.
